Severe Weather

Heavy WindTonight we had to turn the lights off early due to heavy wind. The wind and light rain was creating unsafe conditions for people to be walking on the lighted tour. Also, several of our decorations, especially the inflatable decorations, were not able to withstand the wind.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook or Twitter for instant updates and news about the lights.

2010 Christmas Lights Season Begins!

Tripp Family Christmas Lights 2010

We have officially started the 2010 Tripp Family Christmas Lights season! Since October 15, 2010, the Tripp Family has been working hard to get ready for this holiday season. We have spent countless hours checking bulbs, splicing wires, and replacing fuses to get ready. It is an honor for us to share our tradition with the community and with your family. Tonight, there was
192 people to walk through the display. We are excited to see all these folks to come join us! This is the largest number of people that we have ever had on the first night.

Now don’t forget Santa Claus will be here on Saturday, December 4th and 5th. You can find the date and time for all Santa’s visits on our calendar.

P.S. If you have taken pictures or captured video of the lights and wouldn’t mind sharing please email us! You can also upload your images or video to our Facebook page.

Volunteers Needed

The Tripp Family Christmas Lights needs volunteers to help with this year’s display! Every year the Tripp Family puts up the lights for thousands of people to enjoy for free. This is the first time that we have publicly asked for volunteers and we hope that you will be willing to help.

We need volunteers to place plastic and wire decorations in the yard. The date and time you can volunteer can be arranged but we do ask that you be able to commit a minimum of four hours. All the volunteers will be featured on our website, Facebook, and Twitter pages for their services.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Tripp Family Christmas Light 2010 holiday display please contact Joey Tripp by phone (478-220-0024) or by email.

We’re Digitally Interactive.

We are getting ready for another Holiday season! We started putting up lights on October 15th and since then we have been working hard to make sure we have them ready for December. While we are putting up lights our electronically inclined son Joey has made us digitally interactive so you can enjoy some social networking services to give you a unique experience.

The experience begins with the addition of “checking-in.” We have added our location on several social check-in services. When you visit us in December you will be able to use your phone and check into all of the services that we have listed below. You can find out more about the services and if they are compatible with your phone on the service’s website.

Here is a list of check-in services that you can find us on:

Foursquare

Gowalla

Scvngr

Whrrl

In addition to checking-in, we will be putting our operational hours and event times on a Google Calendar so everyone can subscribe to it. If you can subscribe to the calendar by adding it to your phone or your online calendar service. This way everyone will be able to check their calendar on what times the lights will be on and when to expect Santa. We will, of course, be keeping you up-to-date on Facebook and Twitter but this is an additional service to help get the information out to you easier.

To help you find our location better we are now listed on Google Places. Google Places has a lot of features such as getting directions and giving the ability for users to leave reviews! So, if you want to leave a review for our location for others to see you can use Google Places!

In an effort made by the Eastman Chamber of Commerce, we are now listed on ExploreGeorgia.org, the official Georgia state attraction and tourism directory. We are excited to be listed in the directory and hope more people are able to visit us this holiday season.

We hope that you enjoy all these new additions. Also, tell your friends and family about us by inviting them to become involved with us via Twitter and Facebook.

Have a great week!
The Tripp Family
