Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church hosts Living Nativity

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church invites you to experience “God’s Present,” a free living nativity performance, on Wednesday, December 19th with three showings at 6PM, 6:45PM and 7:30PM. The live performance will be held across from the Tripp Family Christmas Lights display.

Come and enjoy an evening under the stars full of worship with a simple presentation of Jesus’s birth. According to Tom Wheeler, a member of the event planning committee, “We have tried to provide points where people of all ages can connect with the story, and provide an experience unique to Christmas. Whether it is the music, the narrative, or the live animals the hope is that this will be a new way to experience this powerful event that truly did change the world.”

The event is hosted by the Children’s Committee of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church but the entire church is involved in the production of “God’s Present.” “All age groups will be in the production itself and everyone has been helping behind the scenes” stated Wheeler. The presentation will last about 15 minutes each with 30 minute breaks between each performance. There will be about 40 actors total portraying the roles of Joseph, Mary, angels, shepherds, wise men and more. Assistance will be available for handicap and disabled individuals.

Once visitors have experienced the living nativity everyone is encouraged to walk through and enjoy the lights in the Tripp Family Christmas Lights display. Joe Tripp owner of the Tripp Family Christmas Light said “I think it is great the church is having a living nativity across the road and I love the idea. We are not hosting Santa Claus the night of the nativity so people can enjoy it.”

Bring your family and friends to see “God’s Present” a production of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church across the road from Tripp Family Christmas Lights located in Yonkers, Georgia at 63 Macedonia Church Road, Cochran, GA 31014 off of Highway 257 between Chester, GA and Empire, GA.
